Walk Together: It's time to walk together

At 1pm on June 23, the Saturday of Refugee Week, 'Welcome to Australia' are inviting the Australian community to 'Walk Together' in recognition that although we've all arrived here via different pathways we share a common Australian journey. Come and join Senator Hanson-Young in Sydney and her Greens colleagues across the nation to celebrate Australia's diversity, and welcome with compassion and dignity those that have arrived in this country.

Brisbane: 530pm Friday 8 June, the Lantern Parade Walk for Refugees, starts at the Cultural Forecourt Southbank and will end in a concert at the Suncorp Piazza Southbank. For more information or to get involved as a volunteer, please contact angies@mdabne.org.au

Canberra: 1pm Saturday 23 June, meet at Stage 88, Commonwealth Park. Walking to Reconciliation Place in front of Old Parliament House.

Sydney: 1pm Saturday 23 June, meet at Parliament House, Macquarie St. Walking to Belmore Park, Eddy Avenue.

Melbourne: 1pm Saturday 23 June, meet at Parliament House (Spring St). Walking to Piazza Italia in Argyle Square, Lygon St, Carlton

Adelaide: 1pm Saturday 23 June, meet at Victoria Square. Walking to Elder Park rotunda.

Newcastle:1pm Saturday 23 June, meet Central Promenade, 133 Wharf Rd. Walking to the Maritime Museum, Honeysuckle Drive

Hobart: 1pm Saturday 23 June, meet in front of the Skills Institute (TAFE), Campbell St. Walking to Princess Wharf Shed 1

Perth / Fremantle: 1pm Saturday 23 June, meet at the Welcome Fiesta at The Esplanade Reserve, Marine Tce, Fremantle. Walking through the centre of Fremantle and back to the Fiesta (approx. 20 minutes).

Rockhampton: 1pm Saturday 23 June, meet at PCYC, Bridge Street, North Rockhampton walking to the River Front by Saigon 

Darwin: 1pm Saturday 23 June, meet at midday to walk from St Mary's Cathedral, 90 Smith Street. Walking to Christ Church Cathedral / Civic Park

Toowoomba: 1pm at the corner of Herries and Victoria Street, walking to Ruthven Street (village Green of city hall)
