Greens hold Geelong budget Q&A in place of Tony Abbott

Media Release
Richard Di Natale 21 May 2014

Australian Greens Senator, Dr Richard Di Natale, will host a budget Q&A at Deakin University in Geelong today.

“Tony Abbott’s attempt to shred Australia’s social safety net and make it harder for people to see a doctor will hit hardest in places like Geelong,” said Senator Di Natale, chair of the Senate Committee into the Commission of Audit.

“The Prime Minister has shown himself to be a coward by not fronting up to the Geelong community to explain his cruel and brutal budget.

“If the PM won’t front up then I want to give students an opportunity to hear about what this budget has in store for them.

“If students can’t express their concerns directly to Tony Abbott then they can voice them to me and I’ll make sure they are heard in Canberra."
