I want to thank Lee Rhiannon for her many years of dedicated service to the people of New South Wales and to the Greens during her time as an elected representative.

Following Barnaby Joyce's resignation as Nationals Leader, Greens Leader Senator Richard Di Natale has called for any new agreement between the Liberals and the Nationals to be made public.

"Barnaby Joyce has finally done what he should have done weeks ago and resigned as Leader of the Nationals," Senator Di Natale said.

"Instead of resigning when serious allegations of wrongdoing were made public weeks ago, he's acted in his own self interest in an attempt to cling onto power.

Rachel Siewert receives Missen Award for integrity in politics

I would like to congratulate my dear friend and colleague Senator Rachel Siewert for winning the prestigious Missen Award for integrity in politics.

Rachel has been an outstanding advocate and member of parliament, who has dedicated her time as a Senator to assisting the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in our community.

It is pretty well known in Parliament House across party lines that Rachel is one of the hardest working Senators in this place.

As a senate committee chair she has a reputation for getting consensus on committee reports that lead to real outcomes.

This is unprecedented and deeply disappointing – personally for Larissa, for her family and for the Greens federally and in Queensland.

The Parliament and the nation are worse off as a result of the resignation of two leaders of such integrity and ability as Larissa and Scott.

Greens a force for stability but Coalition divided

Australian Greens Leader Richard Di Natale has laughed at Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull's assertion that that a re-elected Coalition would deliver stable government.
